Yet again HSI can proudly claim to be ahead of the game and to have “discovered” a significant new photographer.

Rozenn Leboucher came to the UK from Bandol in South of France to study photograhy and completed her course this year. During this time she travelled widely in South America, Europe, and north Africa. Rozenn asked us to look her portfolio and on seeing this, we offered her a spread in the magazine.

HSI was then delighted to learn that she had won the Fujifilm young Photographer of the Year Award and the editorial section of that competition. Anyone likes to be proven right and we congratulate the Fujifilm judges on their agreeing with us.

Rozenn states that this kind of travel photojournalism is her bag and, says that she would like if possible to concentrate, to some extent on religious festivals. That is, of course, a difficult row to hoe but she certainly seems to have her own take on things and her own style. She shoots B&W and colour with equal facility so she should be able to cope with almost any comission.

For the next six months, however, Rozenn is off on the cruise ships to earn some cash hoping to exploit the award’s networking potential on her return. Already, she has been talking to agencies about representation. HSI would like to congratulate all winners in this year’s awards, especially Rozenn, and we look forward to publishing more of her work in the future.

Encore une fois HSI peut se targuer d’être en avance sur le jeu et d’avoir «découvert» une importante photographe. Rozenn Leboucher est venu au Royaume-Uni de Bandol, dans le Sud de la France, pour étudier la photograhie et a terminé ses études cette année.

Entre temps, elle a beaucoup voyagé en Amérique du Sud, en Europe et en Afrique du Nord. Rozenn nous a demandé de regarder son portfolio et en le voyant, nous lui a offert plusieurs pages dans le magazine. HSI a ensuite été ravi d’apprendre qu’elle avait gagné le prix Fujifilm du jeune photographe de l’année et par la même, la section éditoriale de ce concours. Tout le monde aime être aprouvé et nous félicitons les juges de Fujifilm pour avoir été en accord avec nous.

Rozenn dit que ce genre de photojournalisme de voyage fait parti de son sac et; elle ajoute qu’elle aimerait, si possible, se concentrer autant que possible sur le thème des fêtes religieuses.

C’est, bien sûr, une ligne difficile à creuser, mais elle semble bien avoir sa propre prise sur les choses et son propre style. Elle photographie en noir & blanc et couleur avec autant de facilité, donc elle devrait être en mesure de faire face à presque toutes les commandes.

Cependant, pour les six prochains mois, Rozenn part sur ​​les paquebots de croisière pour gagner un peu d’argent, en espérant à son retour, exploiter le potentiel des réseaux du prix Fujifilm.

Elle a déjà parlé à des agences pour la représentation. HSI tient à féliciter tous les gagnants du prix Fuji de cette année, en particulier Rozenn, et nous sommes impatient de publier encore son travail dans l’avenir.
