Rozenn leboucher plébiscitée en Chine

C’est lors d’une gigantesque cérémonie officielle à Kunming en Chine, toujours très impressionnante, que Rozenn Leboucher s’est vu remettre le Grand prix photographique de la catégorie “rites traditionnels” du concours photo “ Humanity photo award 2011”, en partenariat avec l’Unesco. La jeune artiste photographe a été plébiscitée pour son sujet: “ Famadihana: retournement des morts” à Madagascar.

C’est la deuxième fois que la jeune femme remporte ce prix: elle avait été primée – dans la même catégorie – en 2009

Plus de 2 000 participants

Cette année, 2319 participants ont prix part à ce concours, représentant 116 pays. La finale a réuni 66 photographes de tous pays.

Un grand prix fut décerné à chacune des 6 catégories. Chaque catégorie est en rapport avec le thème des cultures du monde et des us et coutumes sur la planète.

Les photographes qui prennent part à ce challenge photo passent une semaine sur place, une semaine culturelle qui plus est car la province du Yunnan est très riche en ethnies: ce fut donc une occasion supplémentaire pour Rozenn de réaliser quelques clichés supplémentaires. Ce fut également l’occasion pour elle de parler de son projet “

Ethnocolor” actuellement exposé à la galerie Rancilio sur la presqu’île, et de l’importance de l’inscrire en tant qu’archives visuelles au patrimoine immatériel de l’Unesco et de sa sauvegarde.

Rozenn leboucher plebiscited in china

It is during a huge and impressive ceremony in Kunming, that Rozenn Leboucher was awarded of the ‘Grand award’ in the ‘rites and traditions’ category of the “Humanity photo Award” 2011, in partnership with Unesco.

The young artist was selected for her subject: “Famadihana: returning of the bones” in Madagascar. It is the second time that the young lady won this award, she was also the award winner of the same category in 2009.

More than 2000 participants

This year, 2319 candidates represented by 119 countries participated to this competition. The final selection gathered 66 photographers from different countries. A Grand Award was given to the six categories. Each category is related to the us & customs around the world.

The photographer who take part in this challenge spent a cultural week in the province of Yunnan very rich in autonomous ethnic groups.
A great occasion to realise more interesting snapshots.

It was also an occasion for Rozenn to make a lecture on her Ethnocolor project and speak about the importance to preserve and archives Unesco intangible heritage.
Beside this, her Ethnocolor exhibition is currently exhibited in the Rancilio Gallery.
